topic 10.1 Direct Connect logfile location in Data Management Questions

Is there anyway to change the location of the file "sdedc_<dbms>.log" that tracks direct connects to SDE? I was under the impression that at 10.0 the SDEHOME env. variable on the client could be used to specify the folder where this file would be placed. I have been unable to get this to work in our 10.1 testing.

We are changing to direct connect when we upgrade desktop and SDE to 10.1 and it would be nice to retain this file for troubleshooting. Our production environment is on Citrix so if the user gets frustrated by an error and closes the application before notifying the SDE administrator that there was a problem, the logfile is lost when their Citrix session ends. Without being able to direct where this file is placed, I suppose our Citrix admins could look at how to preserve the file.

Thanks for any suggestions...
-S.
