Unable to open .MSD file in ArcMap

Hi,

I am trying to open .MSD file using ArcMap but getting below error message.

'Could not open the specified document'

Can you please help me?

Please mention in which version was the .msd created and what is the current version of ArcGIS for Desktop, that you are trying to access the .msd

Thanks for response.

We created in ArcGIS 9.3.1 and now we are trying to open in ArcGIS 9.3.1 (Same version).

Did you try opening the .msd in the machine in which it was created. If yes, what was the result.

Was there any extensions present when the .msd was created and is the extension missing now in the new machine which you are trying to access the .msd

Yes i am using same machine.

i am getting below error.

'Could not open the specified document'.

Using Map services i can access this file but not able to open using ArcMap.
