Hi,
Hope someone could help me out with this:

I have 2 shapefile:
SHP#1: Countries' Boundaries
SHP#2: World Ecoregions (polygons extend over country boundaries)

I would like to create a NEW shapefile with the Ecorregions (SHP#2) inside a SINGLE country from SHP#1.
So, cutting the SHP#2 polygons by a country in SHP#1 making a new shapefile with corresponding SHP#2 attributes.

A New shapefile showing only the Ecorregions within Country A, so I can later realize an area analysis for the ecoregions within Country A.

Thanks,
Bernardo.

Try a Union (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//00080000000s000000) I think this does what you want.
It "merges" the to shapes into one bringing the shapes and attributes together.

Hi,

Union worked good. Now i have both attributes in a single shapefile. Nevetheless, when i try to perform "Calculate Areas (Spatial Statistics)" im getting an error [error: 000641 - too few records for analysis...). Any help here?

Thanks.
Bernardo

Just did it adding a field in the attribute table and "Calculate Geometry" but the results are definitively wrong. Showing numbers too small for the respective areas. Any help here please.

Bernardo.
