Select Feautures tool is grayed out

Hello,

I am needing to use the Select Features tool to select a point I need in my project.

I am using ArcMap 10.0, and have been using this tool throughout my project, but for some reason it is grayed out and won't allow me to click/select it.

What do I need to do??

Hi Shannon,

Are any of your layers selectable? You can toggle this on an off by viewing your layers by Selection in the Table of Contents, make sure at least one layer is selectable (blue) like in the attached image.[ATTACH=CONFIG]22343[/ATTACH]

Hello Shannon,

You may try closing and restarting Arc. This usually works for me when I encounter an odd situation. I hope this helps.
