USDA SSURGO joining soil textures to polygons

Hi,

I am having a major problem trying to join soil classifications to USDA soil polygons.
I am using Microsoft Access to join the "MUKEY" (map unit key) to specific databases within the SSURGO database. It will not let me join the texture description into the mukey.

I am able to join the databases above into arcmap by the mukey, but...

What I want to do specifically in arcmap is join data that will have the soil texture (ie. silt loam, sandy loam, clay loam, etc...) attached to the appropriate "MUKEY". Because right now it is classifying according to the specific region of soil.

Any help appreciated.

It looks like you need at least one more field as a key. MUID is a unit identifier, while chorizons are more detailed, so this is a many-to-one relationship to MUID. The likely candidate key fields are component and chorizon.

I haven't done any work with the newer format soils data, but see especially pg2-35 in this document:
