I have now managed to crash ArcMap at will whilst tracing and I have submitted the steps I took, along with a sample dataset to ESRI UK Technical support. I also enclosed two dumps because they could not be sent to ESRI at the point. I'm aware the the UK support cannot use these but ESRI in America may be able to.

I even have a screenshot for one of the time's it crashed.

Kind regards

Hi there

How stable is tracing in ArcGIS 10 at the moment? I am running SP 4.

After some weeks of stability, ArcMap has crashed 3 times today and 2 of those were whilst tracing and in particular, I was tracing the same way in both times when it crashed. Thus I feel I could reproduce the tracing error.

In on technical terms, it is as if ArcMap gets confused.

Kind regards

Tim
