My goal is to geocode a list of addresses so that the corresponding parcel is highlighted/marked but I am doing something wrong.

Steps:
I go to Create Address Locator
-Address Locator Style: US Address - Single House
-Reference Data: Parcel Data (See link below) and set Role to Primary Table
-Feature ID: I left as OBJECTID
          -House Number: Left as HOUSE
          -Street Name: STNAM
          -Suffix Type: STDES
          -Suffix Direction: STDIR
          -Rest left as <none>
I right click the Addresses file and choose Geocode Addresses
-I leave Address Input Fields as Address/City/State/None and click ok

None of the addresses match so I click Rematch and find that no address has any candidate. However, if i type in an address I know is valid using the Geocoding Toolbar (1621 N 06th St) it WILL locate it on the map. I'm completely new to GIS so it's likely that I'm missing something. I attached the address information and provided the link to the parcel data if that helps.

Parcel Data: http://www.pasda.psu.edu/uci/MetadataDisplay.aspx?entry=PASDA&file=PhiladelphiaParcels201101.xml&dataset=462 (I used the FTP download and imported that into ArcMap10)

One thing I noticed is that the city and state values are null when you identified that particular address, but you have it typed in in the rematch box. If those values are not in the address locator you built, that might make the address search invalid. I've built address locators before with out a city and state field, (just based on street and zipcode) and when you put the city and state in the search it can't find it.

Also, depending on how picky the address locator is, there is a difference between "st" and "STREET". You might try lowering your match candidate score at least and see if it is at least picking up a candidate.

Hopefully that helps.

The service pack install worked thanks a lot (I'm using 10.0 trial version). I was able to get about 50% of the addresses mapped. However, while looking through the unmatched address I'm finding that the locator isn't seeing many addresses that it's supposed to. I attached an example below where the locator can't see "2430 N 06th St" but CAN see 2430 S 06th St.

I have Identify windows open for both of those parcels trying to figure out why it can see one but not the other. I checked the "N" attribute for spaces but there are none.

I tested "St" vs "Street" but it doesn't effect the results.

I picked out a simple block of addresses and ran a test geocode on them to provide more information on the failures. It missed about half of the units and there doesn't seem to be any sort of pattern to which addresses are failing.

I attached a screen shot of my test results. The block is outlined and blue and each parcel is labeled with its corresponding address (808 through 821 Diamond Street).

I am having difficulty wi this as well. I noticed that when I select my address table to geocode, I have given the field Street Name Or Imtersection. But House Number is missing. S I cannot select the house number field in my table for it to access. When I rematch, I get the same thing in the address window that is in the screen shot. As you can see, no house number is referenced there as well. It seems the house number would be an important identifying factor.
