It's possible to create a read only connection using ArcCatalog or to simply connect to an availability group listener, however if an availability group fail over happens the connection gets disconnected and you have to establish a new connection. It would be nice to have a "re-try or auto-reconnect" step happen before the connection is terminated. This would help maintain the connection and gracefully handle an availability group fail over.
