idea Allow attachments table to be included in branch versioned editing in Data Management Ideas

Per Esri case 03897472, it is not possible to edit attachment tables via branch versioning. I would like to be able to access the attachment tables in the branch versioned editing service so that I can download and delete attachments without having to unregister the data as versioned.

Hi Amy!

If I understand your description correctly, I was able to accomplish downloading all attachments from a referenced branch versioned feature layer in my Enterprise setup and then delete them without having to unregister as versioned with two tools (one core tool and the other a sample tool). BTW - You are correct, there is no way to access the attach table directly with attachments in a feature service.

The Export Attachments tool in the Data Management Tools - Attachments toolbox downloaded all of my attachments to a single folder, or to subfolders (which I did) using values from a selected field in the attribute table. Once downloaded, I selected all of the features in the same active map and used the sample tool: Remove Attachments By Selection. This is where I encountered the error that the tool could not update a branch versioned table. I am continuing to investigate this. Stay tuned.
