Colleagues are being asked for a login, even though all the data in my map is shared as public

I've created a web app http://englishheritage.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapBasic/index.html?appid=19d82f2ca7514785aa315fcd5ac60dd4 which I've shared. It's based on a map http://englishheritage.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=befcdf7a2b2247c19419b769d8077ca4 which is also shared, but when my colleagues who don't have an ESRI account try to access it they are being asked to log in. What's going on?

Hello Simon -- Sorry you are having difficultly with your story map. Can you please double-check the sharing on the web map? I can't access the web map item page via the link you provided above, so it seems that's not shared publicly.

Hi Simon, all the items are indeed public. I dug into your application configuration a bit more and it looks like the culprit is one of Feature Servers you configured to use in the map search tool. This feature service: https://services1.arcgis.com/GKHFS1tjFvm1DyXI/arcgis/rest/services/RRS_Reports_05_2018_WGS1984/FeatureServer/0 (Research Reports (05/2018)) requires a token and is prompting the viewer to sign-in.

Thanks for that, but what do you mean by "requires a token"? I'm afraid I'm still quite a newbie. How do I change this?

When a service "Requires a token", it means it is private and requires a user to login. A token is just a type of web authentication method. When a user logs in with the credentials, the app will automatically generate a token to use to authenticate the service.
