Hi, This is a Story Map Series app. It worked fine until yesterday, and I'm not sure what I might have done to change the extent, but although the scale is the same, the map shifted. Thanks!

Hi again Steven,

Thank you for your reply yesterday. I was a bit confused, so I'm attaching a Word file with some screenshots of my map(s), and comments/questions. I wonder if you can explain to me what exactly you meant by 'map editor' after seeing what I'm working on. Please let me know if my questions make sense, and if you can direct me further.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help!

Suzanne

      From: Stephen Sylvia <geonet@esri.com>

To: Suzanne Luhr <suz_wyo@yahoo.com>

Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2017 12:17 PM

Subject: Re: - Re: Map Home location?

#yiv6220763308 * #yiv6220763308 a #yiv6220763308 body {font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;}#yiv6220763308 #yiv6220763308 h1, #yiv6220763308 h2, #yiv6220763308 h3, #yiv6220763308 h4, #yiv6220763308 h5, #yiv6220763308 h6, #yiv6220763308 p, #yiv6220763308 hr {}#yiv6220763308 .yiv6220763308button td {}

|

  GeoNet

|

Re: Map Home location?

reply from Stephen Sylvia in Story Maps - View the full discussionWhen using Map Series, the home location is set by the initial extent of the webmap (the extent that was saved from the ArcGIS Online map editor.

Yes, editing the layer popups in the web map is the "map editor" I was referring to. When you click "save" in the editor, it will save the current extent of the map as the home extent in the app. The map series app will just center the map. To offset it for the description, just move offset it in the map editor and save it again.

To your last question about clicking on a point to change the tab, it is not possible in the hosted version of the app. If you are willing to download the app and add a little bit of JavaScript, you can get it to work. Here's an example The World is Full of Circles | Travel | Smithsonian (Look at the last "map" tab).
