How do I bypass the character limit on Story Map Tour description panel?

There is an issue where I can no longer input any characters once a reach 1,000 characters on the description panels. I've been mainly using the Side Panel layout, but I find that this issue also exists on the Three Panel and Integrated layouts. I am needing to type in much more than 1,000 characters and find that the Map Tour is the ideal template for my project. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, sorry about the issue. There's not a way to workaround that limit. You could consider using Story Map Journal instead of Story Map Tour if you have a large amount of text you want to provide per place. You could create a Story Map Journal that has one section per place. This has a different interactive appearance and authoring workflow than Story Map Tour, but has some additional benefits over Map Tour: you can include any number of images, you can control the exact extent shown for each place, and the content of the map on a per place basis, and you can also define story map actions in the narrative text that manipulate the map when clicked. Alternatively, Story Map Shortlist is a place-based app with a similar look to Story Map Tour's Side Panel but it doesn't have the character limit for the description panel and has some built in support for formatting the text.
