The URL to the story map is

http://uscssi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=e1b6b3f58ed94f3f9d4f3430df24d075

The map is shared with Everyone and the map service that I published is

also shared with Everyone - It is in an organizational account. The map

service url does prompt a sign in.

Any thoughts will be awesome.

I am just getting started with story maps - so this map is my test version

and contains only 1 layer.

Regards,

Jo-Anne

I did share it with Everyone (public). The url is:

http://uscssi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=e1b6b3f58ed94f3f9d4f3430df24d075

It seems to display fine in internet explorer and chrome (not firefox)

(I'm working with only one layer and testing at this point), but it still

shows that the layer is not accessible within my production environment.

Regards,

Jo-Anne

Hi Jo-Anne,

That service looks like it's only accessible over https, so when accessing your story over http it shows as an error. If you try accessing your story over https I don't think the error will appear.

Also, you are referencing that service with a link to the GIS server's internal web server rather than the web adaptor, which is not recommended. The best practice for configuring ArcGIS Server is to use the web adaptor. Please refer to the ArcGIS Server documentation for more information.

About the ArcGIS Web Adaptor—Documentation (10.4) | ArcGIS for Server

Owen
