Cascade using existing story map id

idea for Story Map Cascade
It would sure be nice to simply point the cascade template at an existing story map by ID. It seemed to grab the title but nothing else. Is there anything in common between the new template and existing story map templates such as map journal? Is it really necessary to start over from scratch in the builder?

Hi Spencer,

Cascade is a completely different data model to support the new storytelling pattern it offers. Someday we hope to get to the point where you can easily change which story map app you use for a single story, but we're not there yet. 😉

For now you can copy text from another story map into your Cascade story, and of course you can simply point to any maps or scenes that you have created for other stories in the Cascade Builder, so they would not have to be recreated or duplicated.
