Why content cannot be shown in a frame?

Hello there;

I am new to ArcGIS, so please bare with me if my questions are too basic. I created a web mapping application using the Story Journal template.

I created differentiate sections and all but two cannot display its content in the Main Stage, the side panels are ok though.

I am getting the following message after failed attempts to upload the maps:

"This content can't be shown in a frame

There is supposed to be some content here, but the publisher doesn't allow it to be displayed in a frame. This is to help protect the security of any information you might enter into this site

Try this

Open in a New Window"

Would you please tell me why is this happening and how can I correct this error? I made all the maps I have created public, thinking that permission in one of those could be the culprit.

The two swipe apps do not allow you to embed them because they both require a login. ArcGIS will not allow it's sign in page to be embedded to prevent user credentials being shared with unauthorized websites (those embedding the page).

Although all the content of the story may be public, the app requires a login because you have embedded a link to the editor version of the swipe app (which always requires a login) instead of the public version. To fix this, remove the "&edit=true" from the URL you are embedding.

Hi Stephen it worked perfect. I have one more question, do I have to have as shared the maps I use within Apps so people to whom I sent the App could see it too?

Hi Miguel,

Yes, all content in your story must be shared so others can see it -- this includes maps, scenes, layers, apps, and story maps.

A good way to confirm all components of your story are shared publicly is to open your story in an incognito or private browsing window, which simulates viewing the story while not logged in to your ArcGIS account. If you can view the entire story in an incognito/private browsing window then it is fully accessible to others.

You can visit the My Stories section of the story maps website to check your stories for issues that may prevent others from seeing it. Also, some story map builders will alert you to issues.
