Just like MXDs, you are going to want to stay current on the version of PMFs you are using. I suppose you could get Publisher 9.3 (as suggested above), but being that ArcReader is free, I would just download version 10 of ArcReader, and continue working with ArcPublisher 10 on ArcGIS 10.

I have created a pmf file using ArcPublisher and am trying to open it in ArcReader. If I package the data and distribute it so someone else, do they have to re-establish the same pathways to the data as were in the source mxd document? I have tried this and am getting an unknown error when I try to open the pmf in ArcReader. The pmf was created in ArcGIS 10, I am trying to open the document in ArcReader 9.3. Might that be causing the problem?

I'm having the same problem, getting an Unknown error when I try to open a .pmf file in ArcReader. I created it using ArcPublisher in ArcMap 10 but to complicate things further ArcMap 10 and ArcReader 9.3 are on different computers. I'm currently installing ArcReader 10 on the system with ArcMap to see if it solves the problem. Was there ever a solution to this?

I'm seeing similar problems with opening an ArcPublisher 10 document in ArcReader 9.3.
The first solution that comes to mind is to create the document with ArcPublisher 9.3. I'm guessing these files would be compatible with ArcReader 10.

Suggestions?
