Publishing Hyperlinked Photos

Hi,

I have hyperlinked .jpgs in my published that I want to package and deliver with a .pmf but I can't figure it out. Does the end user of the ArcReader document and associated data package need to create their own directory and store the photos using the same path that is in my original .mxd?

Randall,

That is correct. Give them the jpgs and have them duplicate the path that you have created for the hyperlinks.

Hello all,

What if I want the photos in a Blob or Raster field in my feature class attribute table (All data in the GDB)?

Few questions:

-how to easily load images into a file GDB ?
-what field type is best Blob or Raster ?
-what about attachements support in Arc Reader with the identify tool ?
-how to lock the File GDB so it can only be read by the PMF (any options when packaging) ?

Another question: how do we ensure protection of the data in the File GDB created when packaging ? I tried the locked and compress GDB in Packaging option and it seems that I cannot read the GDB in ArcGIS. But how safe is it ?

I want all my data in the File GDB and access the attachements from ArcReader so everything is secured in the locked GDB and that sensitive information is never accessible outside the Password protected PMF.

copy the folder that has the attachments in it to the client machine that you want it on for arcreader.
make sure it is in the same folder that you used to add the attachments to arcmap.
Ex.(C:Temp\attachments) on your local machine is where you add the attachments from. copy that attachment folder to (C:temp) on the client machine with arcreader.
