This is going to sound like a very silly question, and I apologize in advance.

I just started a project where we had intended the work flow to involve checking data in and out of a geodatabase and using ArcPad on our GeoXH's, and I just read the following in the ArcPad 10 help:

Note:
At the time of the ArcPad installation, if you have ArcGIS 9.3, the ArcPad 8.0 Data Manager will automatically be installed. If you have ArcGIS 10, the ArcPad 10.0 Data Manager will automatically be installed.

The ArcPad 10.0 Data Manager is only compatible with ArcGIS 10.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this process since the ArcPad Data Manager is apparently not compatible with 10.1. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated! Once again, I apologize for posting such a silly questions. I just assumed such a useful tool wouldn't just disappear!

You're looking in the right place. However if it's not on the list then it is not currently available (not currently installed on your machine).

Paul

Hello clemasters.

pts3 is right that this issue may simply be caused by the ArcPad software not being installed on the machine you are working with. However, if ArcPad is installed on your machine and you are still not seeing the extension or toolbar, the issue you are running into may be that the ArcPadToolsGen2.dll file did not register properly during the installation of ArcPad and ArcGIS (for example ArcPad was installed before ArcMap). In attempt to fix this, you can find the steps to properly register the .dll from the following KB article; ArcPad Data Manager extension is not visible in ArcMap 10.

Hope this helps.
