Install problem with ArcPad 10.0.3 (eval download)

I just downlaoded the ArcPad 10.0.3 from the eval download link, and tried to install it. I uncompressed all install files as suggested. The install runs for a while then gets stuck with 40 seconds left to go, while copying "C:\Windows\Fonts\esri_30.ttf". Anyone else have this problem ? Is it just a problem with the 10.0.3 eval release ?

I have admin rights to my PC. I notice that the properties for the Fonts folder is "Read-only (Only applies to files in folder"). Do I need to change the properties of this folder before running the install ?

The OS is Windows 7 Professional (SP1), 64-bit OS.

This may be an issue related to having other programs open - especially Internet Explorer - when attempting to install ArcPad.

Could you try to run the install again with no other programs open and let me know how you go?

If you've attempted an install with all other programs closed and are still running into the same issue -

I would attempt to install the program by right-clicking the setup.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator". I've had this clear up installation issues from time to time. When the issue is permissions related it often gets stuck on the installation of the font files.

A good thing to test if the above doesn't work:

Copy a font file from the C:\Windows\Fonts\ directory and paste it into another folder. Change the name of the file. Copy and paste the renamed file back into the fonts folder. Will it let you paste it? If not, that's where you should focus your attention.
