I would like to be able to auto-populate a 'study area id' field (based on my current location within one of 50 study area polygons) so that I don't have to type in a long string of numbers and potentially make mistakes. As I have little prior programming experience and no ArcPad scripting experience, I am trying to get a very high-level understanding of the steps involved in automating this task. I heard at the user conference that I need to write a VBScript in ArcPad Studio and there will be a point-in-polygon computation and an on-load event involved somewhere.
