Older thread, but want to add this link for anyone else trying to get ArcPad 7.x (and maybe other) and Garmin GLO bluetooth talking to each other, including a couple links that helped.

My notes re: Garmin GLO Bluetooth GPS and ArcPad 7.1.x info

How do I pair the Garmin GLO with my Windows computer? And just in case that link ever breaks, this is what I did.........and Important points from this doc:

*The GLO is not compatible with Windows 10.

To pair the Garmin GLO with Windows 7:

Press the "On" button on your Garmin GLO to power on the device. The Bluetooth LED should slowly flash blue, indicating that it's searching for mobile devices.

On your computer, click on "Start" (this may appear as the Windows icon).

Click and open "Devices and Printers".

Click on "Add a device" within the Devices and Printers window.

Click on the Garmin GLO and then click "Next" to connect. If you don't see the Garmin GLO, ensure that the device is turned on and that it's searching for mobile devices. It may take several seconds for Windows to detect the device.

Windows might ask you to enter a pairing code (sometimes called a PIN or pass code). If so, please enter 1234 to connect with your Garmin GLO.

NOTE: the GLO shows up as a headphone icon, not as a GPS (at least on my systems, win7)

The link shows connecting to other OS....I just included win7.

Testing.......Start up ArcPad

In the GPS Preference dialog box, select “NMEA 0183”, COM7 (this may vary) and 4800. Click ok.

Choose the GPS Position Window, and say yes to activate. This should pop up a window and show a coordinate of your current position.

You can also open the GPS/Rangefinder Debug window to see a stream of data.

Another link that was semi-helpful if more help is needed. http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/4860-garmin-glo-bluetooth-glonass-receiver

.... now maybe I can find these instructions next time I need them!
