topic ArcPad 10.2.3 system camera testing in ArcPad Questions

I downloaded 10.2.3 for evaluation and am seeing two issues with the ArcPad System Camera on my HP Stream 7 tablet (Windows 8.1):

The best resolution I can seem to get is 640x480 even though the camera settings say it's set to 1280x720. If I take a photo with the Windows photo app the photos are 1600x1200.

I had set up my ArcPad projects for portrait orientation but then when trying to take a photo the camera is always rotated 90°, I have to turn the tablet longways to get the photo to orient correctly and fill the screen. I see the settings options for 0° or 180° but not 90°.

I've tested with the camera on the QuickCapture toolbar and a related table for photos built into my project, same results. In the Options I have the camera quality turned up all the way.
