ArcPad dropdown selection changes when open/close custom form

Hi there,

I hope someone can help me with my little but significant issue. I've created a custom form in ArcPad studio with edit and combo boxes. The combo box is showing the following options that are stored within the apl:

Now the issue: when we choose for instance C and save and reopen the form, the box all of the sudden shows CL instead of C. Somehow the entry gets overwritten and I cannot explain or find out why this is happening. I am at the end of my little tips and tricks that usually work as it is not the first time I create custom forms.

I've also stored and linked the options using a dbf but it doesn't solve the problem. I've thought the issue comes with the autopopulation/autocomplete settings but nope. We run custom arcpad forms ArcPad 10.1 and 10.2.

Has someone experienced that as well? Hope there is a simple solution for my custom arcpad forms

I typically go directly to the code vs. using ArcPad Studio, but can you add a number to you pulldown labels to make sure they are unique? 1-CL, 2-SL, 3-C, 4-S have that in the pulldown and then capture/write the value you need for your file. is that an option for you?
