I'm trying to set-up a custom edit form for my field techs and I want to have several comboboxes for them to select attributes from when editing in the field. I am editing the ComboBox control properties and I am trying to pull in external list values from my .dbf, but I cannot get anything to show up in the drop-down menus in the Values Field and Text Field. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!

(Windows XP Service Pack 3).

Any ideas? Are there any constraints on the dbf file?

***** I just found out that the dbf file should be in the same directory as the axf file. *****

Thx

All,

We apologize to you for the inconvenience this issue is causing you and your workflows. This behavior is a known issue on Vista OS and referenced as NIM083798; Fields for external list values in ArcPad Studio 10 only show on XP machines (not on Win7/Vista). Current status of NIM083798 is Exported and has been Assigned to Development Lead for further action. Please contact Esri Support and ask to be added to this ArcPad bug which will aid in tracking status of NIM083798 in the future via the My Support portal on Esri Support site.

Regards,
Denise

Hello,

With regards to NIM083798 - Fields for external list values in ArcPad Studio 10 only show on XP machines (not on Win7/Vista). ESRI tested and has confirmed the following workaround:

1 - confirm ArcPad Studio is closed before beginning
2 - right-click ArcPad Studio icon on desktop or Start Menu
3 - select Properties option to display ArcPad Studio Properties dialog window
4 - click Compatibility tab
5 - check the Compatibility mode checkbox > Run this program in compatibility mode for > select Windows XP SP3 option
6 - click Apply > OK buttons
7 - launch ArcPad Studio in normal manner, test whether DBF values display properly in the custom form editor; "text" and "values" dropdowns should now be populated as expected if this workaround was successful

Thank you.
