Syncronization process

Hi.

I published an ArcPAD map service in my ArcgisServer 10.0, and I am using the Synchronize Data From Server tool, but I am having problems with it.

Can anyone from ESRI please explain how does ArcPAD perform the synchronization process?
I need to know what files are created in ArcgisServer, and where.
Is there an AXF file that holds all the changes and redistribute for all further synchronizations?
When I add a polygon in one tablet, and then synchronize, what are the process that occur until another tablet receives it?
Is there a delay in this process?
Is there a limited number of features that can be synchronized?

I'll be very grateful if anyone can explain it to me. I am using ArcPAD 10.04.

Have you reviewed the Help topics for ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server? Also we have a tutorial, Publishing ArcPad data to ArcGIS Server that takes you through each step of the process and have Common problems and solutions troubleshooting page.

At the end of the process, an .apo file is created alongside your ArcMap .mxd document. You use the .mxd and .apo together to create an ArcPad publication when publishing the ArcPad project to ArcGIS Server. Depending on where you have installed ArcGIS Server 10, the ArcPad files are typically found in this folder path - C:\Server\arcgisserverOutput\arcpadpublications.

Thank you very much Denise. The help topics were very useful.
But when I publish the map service there is no error, my problem is the synchronization process.

What I would like to know is how exactly the synchronization process works.
I supose that when I upload a polygon by synchronization, it goes imediately to the Geodatabase file.
Then when I synchronize other machine, this polygon shows up, since it is in the geodatabase file.
Unfortunately this is not happening. The geodatabase is receiving the polygon, but the other machine does not receive it.
I would like to know all the ways that this polygon travels until it gets to the geodatabase file, and the ways it should travel until the other machines, during the synchronization process.
Can you help me with that?

Hi Gustavo.

I spent many hours trying to get the sync process to work properly and worked with the tech support folks in ESRI.
I gave up since everything we tried would not work and I also put in a bug report to see if this could be worked on as a fix for 10.1 release. I read on their bug fix report that a number of issues with the sync process was fixed at 10.1 and I plan to get that install soon to test it out.

We were very disappointed with the problems we are having synchronizing Arcpad with the Geodatabase... It is the most important function we need to our activities, so until now we are still not sure if Arcpad will work for us.

Hi Gustavo.
My problem was not like yours. While you at least were able to move the adds to your GDB when doing your sync I could not get any of my adds to the GDB. Since we have maintenance agreement with ESRI I worked with one of the ESRI ArcPad support techs but could not get the adds to sync with the GDB. I had everthing setup correctly and I even tried it with the sample data that ESRI provides but it would still not work. For us it would be very useful if we could get this method to work. I'm planning to install 10.1 soon to see if this problem has been corrected with the 10.1release. They have reported this as fixed at 10.1.
