I set up fields specific to the type of data I will record in the field, and not all fields will necessarily require a value (either text or numeric) at each location. I recently installed ArcPad 10 on the Trimble and for all the fields I've set up, a value is required. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions of ArcPad.
