Hi,
I have a interesting problem that I'm not sure is solvable given the parameters that are available. Auto-Rotation Properties can be found here!l

Basically I am trying to find parameters that will keep the display on the machine form rotating when it goes back and forth within a small area, but will keep course up while it travels between locations. An added problem is that the GPS antenna has to sit about 18 to 24 inches off the axis that the machine spins on.

Anyone have any experience in setting up ArcPad on a tracked machine that can spin and move back and forth? If so, did you find any numbers that worked? We've been trying to simulate the movement in a big empty parking log, but so far nothing has worked.

Alternatively I have been thinking it might be that I have to switch rotation off if the machine doesn't leave a certain extent in a certain time period, and if it starts a lengthy drive then the I turn it back on. But still, if when the logic decided to turn rotation off, the machine was at a strange angle, then the operator would be stuck with that view until she/he drove off.

At this point any ideas would be something we would try.

Take care,
Craig
