ArcPad 8 - AXF CheckOut w/ No SSF

Hello forum,
I am a GIS intern for a city in Colorado. We are using Trimble's GPS Analyst to post process and export the data into the GPS Unit. I've been getting the data for ArcPad using the .AXF method, but it is not sending the .SSF file along with it. My question to the forum is how do I check out the data with the .SSF file being edited and check everything back in, so it can be geoprocessed? I am having a really hard time and the Trimble GPS Analyst help and starter guide tells me to use the "Get Data for ArcPad" button, which is greyed out on my toolbar. So that's no help. Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts.

Greyed out button, see 1 and 2 below. Follow steps for general workflow.

1) Make sure GPS Analyst extension is turned on in ArcMap and ArcCatalog
    9.3 and eariler is Tools/extensions
    10 customize and extensions
2) Make sure you are using a personal geodatabase and it must be gps enabled.
3) Add feature class(es) to ArcMap
4) Save your project
5) Use the get data for ArcPad button on the Trimble GPS Analyst toolbar
6) Copy the Checkout folder to your Mobile Device
7) Collect/Update data
😎 Check data in
    - Start Editing in the GPS Analyst toolbar
9) Differentially Correct data
10) Save your edits
11) Repeat as necessary

Make sure your software is compatible (ArcGIS, GPS Analyst, ArcPad, GPScorrect, Mobile Device)
