startup failure

Hi, I am trying to run Arcpad on a windows 7 laptop in evaluation mode. I dont have a mobile connected. As soon as I run the Arcpad 10 application I get a message "failed to create script parsing engine Error code 0x80040111 scripting language:vbscript" When I OK this message I get the registration window, when I cancel this I get the 20 min warning window then the Arcpad window followed immediately by a "Arcpad has stopped working" windows message.

Have tried reinstalling three times, as well as instaling the MSXML 4 SP2 and Mobile Device Center.

The only thing that does work is the Arcpad Deployment Manager.

I would appreciate any ideas anyone may have to get me up and running

Hi Hanna, Thanks for your reply.

I tried this and made a change to the vbscript.dll path. IT was pointing to a antivirus software directory.

I get the same error message - even after reinstalling ArcPad and rebooting.

I am not sure how literal the response to the reg query should be. There were additional lines of information returned from the first query, although the line in question appears to be correct. Not sure if there is still an issue relating to these additional items.

The attached is the current state of the reg query
