Help with ArcPad forms

Hi

I have created a form in ArcPad Studio to speed up my data collection of Invasive Alien Plants [IAP], the form allows for collecting information on 10 IAP species. But when I run it I now find that I have to enter information into all fields which does not help as there are not always ten species in a plot and we also record absence information.

Can anyone help me by telling me what I am missing in my form development, basically I do not want to have all field mandatory.

Hi Nicholas,

Required Fields on ArcPad Forms are set two ways:

- Inherited from the geodatabase
- Set on the control properties when designing forms in ArcPad Studio

To remove required fields:

- Edit your geodatabase to remove required fields and perform a new checkout
- Reset the required fields property on the control properties in ArcPad Studio

Remember that this does NOT apply to fields required for related tables - they will always be required fields.
