List View Column Properties

I suspect my problem is a relatively easy one to solve, but I cannot seem to find the solution and it is driving me crazy! Essentialy I would like to alter the width of the 'Plant name' field shown on the attached sreenshot.

I have changed the value in the List View Column Properties Dialogue box in ArcPad Studio (Related Table Forms) , but it does not have the desired result.

I've tried to alter this stuff as well to no avail. It's even worse when you have 10+ columns, since they just get squished to the point of showing a single letter or nothing. Hopefully it's something I was overlooking, but I suspect it isn't able to be altered at the moment.
