I am having the same problem. I have the extension checked off in both ArcCatalog and ArcMap, I have assigned the spatial reference system, and geo-enabled the personal database. The Get Data For ArcPad buttom is highlighted, but doesn't present scroll over text or initiate any action (the visual effect of depressing the button does not happen either). The Check In ArcPad Data and GPScorrect SSF buttom is not highlighted even when I have started an editing session in the Trimble GPS Analyst toobar.

I'm trying to check out my personal geodatabase feature class using GPS analyst. While in my new arcmap document the checkout button on the gps analyst tool bar is not activated. I set up my personal geodatabase in arccatalog, set the coordinate system, opened the map document and created a new folder for the gps data. Why wouldn't I be able to check out the data?

In addition to Hannah's post on GPS-enabled personal geodatabases, you must enable the Trimble GPS Analyst extension in BOTH ArcMap and ArcCatalog before you can utilize Trimble GPS Analyst toolbar in ArcMap. In ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 select Tools > Extensions and check the Trimble GPS Analyst check box in dialog window; In ArcGIS Desktop 10 select Customize > Extensions and check the Trimble GPS Analyst check box in dialog window; then close ArcMap/ArcCatalog to allow changes to take affect.

Please review GPS Analyst User Guide for more information on using this extension.

Denise
