Then I would suggest using the GPS Analyst Toolbar within ArcMap to check data out your data, then within the toolbar you will be able to use the GNSS option within it to check the data back in. One last item I would also suggest, is to verify the personal geodatabase is GPS Enabled within ArcCatalog within the properties of the personal geodatabase.
