topic Network dataset. The table was not found. in ArcObjects SDK Questions

I created and built a network dataset in c# (against a arcgis 10 file geodatabase.) If I call the GP tool PopulateAlternateIDFields in the same c# program immediately, I got

ERROR 999999: Error executing function.
The table was not found.
The table was not found. [ND_ <nn> _DirtyObjects]
A network source with the specified name does not exist.

The network looks fine and I can use it in ArcMap. The network has been built and has no Dirty Areas/Objects.

After the exception, when I re-ran the c# program, without the create step, the GP tool worked fine.

Is there something after the create/build network dataset I need to call to clean up?
