Map Extent off in 10.1 Engine app

Has anyone else seen this? We have a ArcGIS Engine app with several shapefiles (cities, countries, etc) and wsiearth. I just updated this Engine app to 10.1 from 9.3.1. When the app starts now the map starts off with the center of the of map offset up and to the left. In other words, the map opens with the all of the layers shifted to the upper left. I've tried determining if there is some corrupt layer that didn't convert correctly by removing each one but it didn't make any difference. This works perfectly fine in the version 9.3.1 of our app. Anyone else seen this?
