10.2 Defense Solutions

Where is com.esri.arcgis.defensesolutions.* disappeared to?

We're attempting to migrate from 10.1 to 10.2 (ArcEngine), however there is no Military Analyst extension and apparently Military Analyst and MOLE are being bundled into 10.2.

But were are they???

In fact were is the Documentation for 10.2?

The info I got from ESRI tech support was that at 10.2 the Military Analyst and MOLE extensions (Defense Solutions) would be retired. That means you have to find new ways to do things but most of the functions are now in the core. Check this out:

If there is a function you use I can check what was suggested as a replacement, otherwise most everything is covered in the link above.

Thanks for your reply. The link you posted looks familiar but does not explain what the replacements are in enough detail.
I am mainly using GeoElipse to produce a geodetic polygon. I am also using MeasureTool. Neither of which I can find a suitable replacement for in 10.2

Hi, my company depends on DefenseSolutions API. Is there some documentation that lists alternatives for every API call that is being removed from 10.1? The webpage previously referenced is too general and only seems to cover out of the box tools. We need something at the API level.

In particular, we use IMeasurementTool to make a lot of geodesic calculations. Some of the methods on this interface that we currently use are ConstructByPoints, ConstructByPointDistAngle, Angle, Distance, ToPoint, and ReverseAngle.

Does anyone know what API calls we would make instead of the above mentioned ones?

Does anyone know of another product that we might use for geodesic calculations and coordinate conversions?

P.S. It would be nice if the 10.1 online SDK documentation mentioned alternatives, if any. It is a little frustrating to find a method description that doesn't even say it is being deprecated, let alone not knowing what to replace it with.
