Create Points from Polygon (Rectangles)

I required to create point feature from polygon. I used following workflow and wondering if it is okay for remaining features. I don't have ArcMap Advanced and can't use Data Mgmt Tool (feature to point)

1. added lat, long columns

2. calculated geometry (centroid)

3. Display x, y

4. Created event feature (point feature)

Is there any suggestion on data stewardship? updating location etc

Is there a limitation. I am able to publish this as layer and see at arcgis online.
