I have fields in a nonspatial table that identify 1) the line features along which a point will be placed and 2) a distance along the line from the starting point. Assuming I need to write my own script to accomplish this, I cannot find an appropriate tool that can generate these points in the Linear Referencing toolbox. The Generate Points Along Lines tool also looked promising, but this tool would create a new feature class for each unique point and cannot apply the process to a specified line in a feature class. I need to place over 1,000 points.
