I don't have a template solution, but you can hide/show toolbars to limit the user experience. See link:
http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/005t/005t0000005r000000.htm

The user should be able to see your Task Assistant workflow automatically in ArcMap if you have checked the "Load Task Assistant workflow" and enabled the correct workflow in your WMX "Launch ArcMap" step.

MXD Template for WMX

I am using Task Assitant Workflows embeded in MXD's that are stored in WMX but when I run through the WMX workflow's my TAM workflows do not always show up automatically in my MXDs, I have to click the Task Assistant Window in the toolbar to open them. Is there a way to use a template or something for the MXD's so that when opened in a WMX workflow they open with only certain toolbars and windows?

If there is a way to use something to do this, can you use a different "template" for different WMX workflows?

Thanks in advance for any info!
