Modify Data source for Query Widget

We will be deploying a large number of webApp builder applications. As we are large organization these applications need to move from a development environment to a test environment and then to a production environment.

We are using the ArcGIS Online Assistant to modify the URL of Services in the Web Map as we migrate the map/application to a different environment.

The problem arises with the Query Widget where the Data source also would need to be modified as the application is migrated. Currently that means opening up each web application and editing the widget and changing the data source. When the data source is changed the filter definition and result settings are cleared out forcing them to be recreated.

This is a very time consuming and error prone task. It would be great if there was a tool like ArcGIS Online Assistant to do this task.

Tony - I see that this question is going on a year old now, I asked the same question of ESRI resources at the DevSummit last week and didn't get any solid answers beyond doing multiple search and replace operations in the Javascript/JSON files. Have you come up with anything better recently?
