Custom Widget to add Temp / Custom field in Attribute Table

I need to create a custom widget which allow to select 2 fields from a layer and it takes difference of these 2 fields and put the result in a custom temp field in attribute table. Similar to below image.

I am able to select the layers and its fields but I am not sure how to show the difference in a new field in Attribute table. This new field should be temporary.

This functionality can be done through Custom attribute expression from portal but is there way we can use this in WAB custom widget code.

Please let me know if you require more information.
