Developer Question re:Loading Desktop Site on Mobile Devices

Hi all,

In building a web app in Web AppBuilder on AGOL (I currently don't have access to Web AppBuilder Developer edition), I came across a question I'm curious about regarding mobile site vs. desktop site views on a mobile device.

When loading my app as the desktop site on an Android device (specifically a Samsung Galaxy S7), it loads differently under two scenarios:

1. Using the mobileBreakPoint URL parameter (set to =300) the app loads as a zoomed in version of the desktop site.

2. Using the Request Desktop Site browser function (after initial load as a mobile site), the app loads as a very zoomed out version of the desktop site.

Can anyone tell me why this is? In both scenarios it is loading the desktop site, I'm just unclear why it appears different.
