Currently when a user with Viewer role opens the Situation Awareness widget in a web app builder, he can select features and edit their attributes. The warning message about the permission will only appear after you click 'Done' or 'Delete'. it misleads users with Viewer role and make them think they can edit the features. To avoid any confusion, it would be simpler for the pop-up window to be in consultation and not give the impression that attributes can be edited. A warning message should appear as soon as a user with Viewer role opens the Situation Awareness widget. The expected behavior should be similar to the one we encounter when the Smart Editing and Editing widgets.

See the video below to demonstrate the behavior.

<video-js data-video-id="6274021691001" data-account="6161463677001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)
