Calendars in Query Widget defaulting to the current date

Currently the calendars in the Query widget default to the date that the developer first set up the widget

(this screenshot was taken Dec. 4). I've spoken to ESRI support and they have confirmed this behaviour and say this appears to be a limitation on the calendar widgets.

Right now this is not a major issue, but down the road this will become a major headache for users as they will have to constantly jump around several months or years to be able to get to the dates they want to query on. What I would propose is that the dates for calendars in widgets default to the current date (or have an option to set the default date in cases where there may be a reason to have the date default to a certain value).
