topic Creating a Custom Search Tool in ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight Questions

The Silverlight Viewer has an AddIn for a Search tool. I would like to use such a search tool for my own searches. Is it possible to intercept the text from that search tool to customize my own searches and bypass the default searches that come with the tool? If that is not possible, I would like to be able to create a similar custom Search tool. Is there any code available to get me started? Also, I noticed the Search panel shares the same panel/space as the Map Contents list (when you click the search button, the map content panel is replaced with the search panel and occupies the exact same space). How would I go about creating a tool with a custom panel that also shares this same space?

Thanks
