What's your favorite XML editing tool/application?

I'm just getting started with Flex and editing XML files. I've been using Notepad and Wordpad on Windows, but it seems there has to be something better. So, do you have a favorite XML editing program that you can't live without? Free is best, but up to about $50-$75 isn't too bad. I've seen some that are in the multi-hundreds of dollars, but that's too much for me.

Thanks for the Notepad++ recommendation. I wasn't aware of that, so I downloaded it, tried it, and I like it. Very feature packed. I've set it as the default editor on my computer for plain-text type files. Goodbye MS Notepad!

I also use Notepad++ daily for many things. It also has an excellent plugin community to do other cool things.

XML Notepad from MS is not bad also.

With Notepad++ I had to add the XML extensions but once i did they worked great.

Has anyone ever seen an interface that allows a novice to fill out dialog box questions and it builds the XML for them? Like a python module or something.

Just an update. I ended up getting pretty much all that i wanted out of XMLPad Pro (it is free).
