How do I handle this? I have my Flexview app in the coordinate system of my data.

Any excel file that is in the same coordinate system will overlay properly.

You could use ArcMap projection tool to re-project your stores FC to webmercator and add coordinates to it, then export the table. that would give you the "lookup table" that you mentioned.

R_

Hi Anthony! Great work! Congratulations. It is primordial for a GIS user's somethings like this.

But, A little question: How can I plot the coordinates in DD.DDD (decimal degreees) instead WebMercator metrical coordinates?

The widget recognizes the webmercator coordinates, but it's too confusing to a kind of users. Furthermore all my application display the wgs84 decimal degrees system. I'm not a "hard developer", but I can set up my "Frankensteins" takeing a piece here, another there and customizing my widgets. The CoordinateMenu widget can Go To coordinates entered as WGS decimal degrees, even behind the "backstages" the webmercator is acting. So it would be the same thing with your widget: enter wgs decimal degrees coordinates by the UI, that passes through webmercator and are ploted at the right place.

Is it possible? Do you've done like this? If not, we can think in. I could help you if I can.

Best Regards

Kenneth,

If you have not specified a wkid in your map tag then the spatial reference ( coordinate system) of your application will be determined from the first base map that is loaded. Check the Rest endpoint for your first basemap this will tell you it's spatial reference.

Your coordinates in your spreadsheet need to be in the same coordinate system as your first base map

Regards

Anthony

This should work for you as a test. (as long as you haven't modified the addexcel.xml to change column names. I noticed if you have the wrong column names, it doesn't error out, it just throws the points in some arbitrary place over in Europe)

R_

Ok, so I understand that these points are based on the initial map background's coordinate system, but out of curiousity is there a way to modify this widget to plot the points based on a street address or road intersection? I would try this on my own, but I'm not NEARLY compitent enough with this to even know where to start.

Thanks for any input..
