Basemap Display Levels

I want the basemap I am using to turn off at the same scale a particular layer in the map is turned on. Whenever I try to set values for the display levels, the basemap disappears. I have not found much info on how to accomplish this. Any help?

More info is necessary for me to be able to help you.

Are you using esri basemaps?

If you are are you setting LODs that correspond with the levels that the basemap has been cached at?

What does your attempts at setting the LODs look like (paste what you have tried)?

I am using an esri streets basemap. I'm not sure what levels the basemap is cached at, so I tried setting the 'Display Levels' value at 100000 and 50000. I also tried 0,1.

You can find a cached map services Levels by going to it's REST Service Endpoint and looking at the Tile Info section.

Thank you for your help. I was putting in the wrong level id numbers.
