Zoom with mouse not working

Hello,

I am using the flex viewer for Year and it is grate, in the past 2 weeks and without any change that I am aware of from my side, the zoom scroll with the mouse doesn't always work, sometime it is working and sometime it is not.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem !!!!

but when I restarted my computer , it is working (zoom) ..

Roi,

I have not seen this issue. So you are saying when the map has focus (meaning you have clicked on the map) your mouse wheel will not zoom the map in and out. What version of Adobe Flash Player and what Browser type and version are you experiencing this issue in?

Hi Robert,

Yes that is what I am saying.

Its look likes the problem occurring only in chrome, but because it doesn't happen every time I can't be 100% sure. The Adobe Flash Player version is 14,0,0,177.

I don’t know if it is related but, around the same time I have notice it the basemap changed without me changing it.

If I reload the map after two or three times the zoom with the mouse will probably work again.

Those type of sporadic errors are nearly impossible to track down...

unfortunately i know that, i thought that maybe i am not alone and somebody all ready dealt with it.

i guess that for know I (and Mohammed) will wait, and we will see if something will come up.

I am using Google Chrome Version 37.0.2062.103 m and have not seen the issue.

Just to throw this out there.....if wireless, have you tried changing the batteries? (Low batteries can cause strange behavior). If wired, have you tries a different mouse? If a rollerball, like a track man, have you cleaned the censors lately? My trackman was having issues this week...popped the ball out and removed a decent sized dust bunnie (so to speak). Sometimes it is still just hardware and not software (at least in my case).

I Figured as much, but don't ever want to ignore the basic level.

and actually I have seen the zoom issues lately too, now that I think about it. I've been bouncing between Fkex builder and the JavaScriot web app builder....but I think it was in the flex builder that I saw it. (Away from office so can't check). I usually just ignore it and use the shift-drag box To zoom in. So, a bit of an annoyance, but just adjust. I think my app was working...just not the flex builder.

I've recently noticed that the scroll zoom stops working sometimes. After just reloading the application it works again. I'm using Google Chrome Version 37.0.2062.103 m (flashplayer 14.0.0.177)

Since it just occurs sometimes I haven't really been able to test any other browser with other flashplayer versions.

I have no solution, just wanted to mention that we also have this issue.

I guess it is time to bring this to the teams attention then. Bjorn Svensson‌ this is being reported by several people now in Chrome.

Hello again,

I have notice that the scroll start to work when you also press the "Ctrl" button on the keyboard (As in regular zoom), and after that it will work anyway. Again can't guaranty 100% but after couple of try's that seems to worked.

I have recently experienced the same issue. All of our Flex apps will now not respond (zoom) to scroll wheel in Chrome. This is multiple workstations with the following configuration:

Windows 7 SP1

Chrome 37.0.2062.103

Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.177

Apps are on Flex 3.6

I have tried clearing browser history, rebooting, can't re-install Chrome very easily as our workstation environments are locked down from uninstalling/reinstalling.

The holding down the Ctrl button to initialize zoom behaviors did work - but something did change / break recently within Chrome and Flex.

We are seeing the same thing on several of our computers. The ctrl work-around does work for us.

Chrome Version 37.0.2062.103 m

Adobe version 14.0.0.177

Windows 7 64bit SP1

I have the debug version of Adobe:

4.0.0.125 (debug version)

with the same chrome and windows versions, and I have not been able to replicate the issue on my machine.

I am also having an issue with the mouse Wheel Zoom in Chrome. CTRL key works - but, users of flex will not know to use that key to zoom. It appears to not work on any initial Tab of Chrome. After a slight window re-size of the tab or a refresh of the current tab - then, it works for the duration of the Flex session in that tab. My configuration is similar to the other's above. I've been trying to code something to do a slight re-size of the tab as a work-around . . . but, it's a little complicated with chrome(maybe impossible). It must have something to do with a Chrome update. Anyone that can figure out a work around - it would be much appreciated.

I have the same problem and it appeared recently with Google Chrome only. It used to work not long time ago. I have various versions of Flex Viewer and all have same issue. While I was looking for the solution, I found this forum.

Well, here is a clunky work-around.

Appending an empty div to the body of index.html - seems to make it work for now(forced re-size).

Until someone figures out - what is really going on. Here is the code I used:

I am getting reports of the same behavior. However most of mine seemed to correlate to the push of an updated map. I have heard that clearing the history and doing a CNTL F5 was not working but that manually cleaning out the Temp folder of the user would do the trick...dunno. Still testing and looking for the issue.
