Flex Viewer Edit Widget/Display

I'm just learning this process, so please be gentle. I ran across the following Flex Viewer sample below and found the Edit widget/display very interesting. Is the template for the Edit widget/display something I can create in ArcMap 10?

Jason,

Yes, What ever editing templates you setup in ArcMap for that Map Service is what you see in the edit widget.

Hi Jason,

Just to add onto Robert's post: You would simply publish a map document that contains the feature class(es) you want to enable Web editing on, as a map service with the feature service property activated. Make sure that you've defined a template for each editable feature class. Then simply reference the feature service in the Edit Widget of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex.

Sorry for the silly question, but where can the Flex Edit Widget (for version 10) be downloaded? The Edit Widget page (http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html#/Edit_Widget/01m30000000v000000/) doesn't have a download link and I searched in the Code Gallery and didn't see it there either.

Ashley,

The EditWidget is one of the core widgets that comes with the Flex Viewer Application and does not come in an individual download.

Hello All,
I am having a hard time configuring this widget. Here's my setup:

I have an MXD with an Edit Template established for the 'Valves' layer

This MXD is published here as both a map service and a feature service:

http://ags2.cdm.com/ArcGIS/rest/services//EastPoint_Water/MapServer

http://ags2.cdm.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/EastPoint_Water/MapServer/FeatureServer

According to Derek Law's post, I simply need to

reference the feature service in the Edit Widget of the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex.

How/where do i do this? Currently the widget fails to detect editable layers.

Do you know how to get the widget to default to the attachment page, instead of the attribute page?

Another tip: make sure the data source has both read/write access! 😄 Silly me, I struggled with ESRI Tech until we realized the SDE geodatabase wasn't set for updating.
